Kanyini – Documentary

On Wednesday 12th, the class and I watched a video called Kanyini. The host of the show is Bob Randall; one of the aboriginal people living in the aboriginal areas. He talks about the main things that the white men took away from the aboriginals.

These are:

1. Spirituality

2. Connection To The Land

3. The Animals

He spoke about his family life and how he lived. He spoke about how his aunts and uncles were like another pair of parents. He also spoke about his experience and how he felt. He told his story about what happened and how it happened.

The use of black and white film was a way of showing the viewers how the aboringinals were before the stolen generation and before the white men came about the land. Bob Randall is one of the aboriginals who had been in the stolen generation, and was lived in the land at the time of the white men coming about the land.

I would feel very mad and hurt because it would feel like something close to me was taken away. If I was in the shoes of the aboringinals it would be very upseting to know that the one thing clost to my heart was taken stolen from me.
