1. Define the term ‘beatitude’.

Any of the declarations of blessedness pronounced by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount2. Explain the purpose of the beatitudes.

The purpose of the beatitudes is to explain what will happen the people of Jesus.

3. Select ONE beatitude and describe how inspiring people of faith put into practice the teachings of Jesus. Use an example to support your answer.

“Happy are the poor in spirit:

Theirs is the kingdom of heaven”

The inspiring people of faith put into practice the teachings of Jesus by helping others and teaching them of Jesus’ teachings.
